Edhi Foundation Pakistan is the largest and most organized social welfare organization in Pakistan. Foundation works round the clock, without any discrimination on the basis of colour, race, language, religion or politics. The Foundation modifies the phrase “Live and let live” to “Live and help live”. The Foundation’s activities include a 24 hour emergency service across the country through 335 Edhi Centres with the fleet of 1800 Ambulances which provide free shrouding and burial of unclaimed dead bodies, shelter for the destitute, orphans and handicapped persons, free hospitals and dispensaries, rehabilitation of drug addicts, free wheel chairs, crutches and other services.
The vision of Edhi International Foundation Australia is to help the disadvantaged segment of the population of Pakistan by helping the Edhi Foundation Pakistan save lives, support orphans, provide shelters for the needy women, to feed the starving and to be at the frontline of natural disasters and humanitarian crisis, helping humans in need regardless of race or religion.
We will achieve our vision by making a difference to the plight of disadvantaged segment of the population of Pakistan through fundraising in Australia to support the exemplary work of the Edhi Foundation.
While our primary focus is to provide assistance in Pakistan, we follow Edhi’s philosophy of contributing to humanitarian crisis all over the world in exceptional circumstances, recognising our wider social responsibilities in the global community as well as our own backyard as Australians.
We will achieve our vision through fundraising in Australia and by raising awareness of the exemplary work of Abdul Sattar Edhi and the Edhi Foundation, and provide our support and promote it as well.
